Hey Team Abnormals community! Lately, instead of continuing work on porting and working on new features, we've spent a lot of sleepless nights thinking about our organization and branding. We believe branding is the most integral part of Team Abnormals' identity and Minecraft modding in general. This is why we our streamlining our suite of mods to be more in line with each other, and higher quality branding-wise.

Mod Introductions
Now, we have a whopping ***NINE ***brand new mods to show off! Let's go through them all!
First up is Alliumworks! There was no doubt in our mind that this mod needed to be created, given the strict onion diet each member of our team is forced to partake in, which harks back to beliefs of Walter de Abnormale, our namesake, way back in 1171 A.D.
This mod features Giant Alliums, which generate in the new Allium Desert biome. The Allium Desert is a Desert biome with Alliums planted everywhere. Giant Allium Stems can be crafted into the new Allium woodset. Alliums can also now be placed on any block and generate in every biome, even including biomes like the Deep Dark!
The Allium Desert biome, featuring many Alliums and a Giant Allium!
Next up is Craftingworks, the most creative mod of this bunch. We considered merging Craftingworks into Woodworks 2, but we decided for the sake of community and for the most possible revenue, we would separate it.
Craftingworks includes the necessary addition of variants of Crafting Tables for every wood type, as well as Crafting Table Slabs, and the brand new 'Crafting Grid' block, which is just the top of a Crafting Table.
Crafting Table Slabs, Crafting Grids, and Acacia & Dark Oak Crafting Tables
**Golemworks **is very early in development, but will be one of our most ambitious mods. While not fully concepted yet, this mod will offer Golems for almost every type of block. Each golem will be constructed in a different format and have different abilities to offer to your Minecraft world.
We know this mod looks like a compatibility nightmare, which is why we made sure to uhhh... make it well coded or something... I think. I forgot. Every mod will have to manually add compatibility for golems. We will not be adding any compatibility on our end, we hate other mods. There's also golems for every wood type so figure it out yourself, we don't care.

Metalworks fits easily among the rest of our mods, further saturating the building blocks pool with bricks, pillars, lanterns, and more, for every single type of metal and gem in the game!
Alongside these decorative blocks, Emerald Armor is finally introduced, which has a 100% chance to strike any incoming attacker with lightning. Wearing Emerald Armor also allows you to breed with Villagers and create new Villageling mobs.
Diamond Pillars, Copper Lanterns, Emerald Armor, and Gold Bricks from Metalworks
**Paperworks **is a quite small, but in another sense, rather large mod. In this mod, we add Bloocks - giant blocks of Books! They serve no purpose! We also add Paper Airplanes, new vehicles that can be used to glide at slow speeds for a couple seconds into they spin into a random direction, crashing and killing the player.
The code for Paper Airplanes is very performance-intensive and will require very high-end PCs to use. There was no way around this, we hope you understand.
Rideable Paper Airplanes and the brand new Bloock!
We noticed we didn't have nearly as many Pike variants as we wanted to, so we will be relocating Pike out of Upgrade Aquatic into a new mod, Pikeworks! This mod will introduce hundreds more Pike variants, utilizing some simple procedural generation to create many new possibilities.
Additionally, we are introducing a special new Pike variant which you can see in the image below. This Pike variant will have a missing texture until you support us on Patreon! Please. Please do it. The texture is super cool. You really want to see it. I promise. Please.
Many Pike variants, including the illusive Patron-Exclusive Pike
We thought it was obvious that Slabfish, being the most recognizably "Abnormal" feature, is certainly deserving of its own mod, especially if Pike are getting their own! This is why we've created Slabworks, to make sure people can access Slabfish without the dread of having to use Environmental's... "content." If you can call it that.
We had to make sure we topped Pikeworks, so we've utilized the power of ChatGPT combined with our existing procedural generation formulas to add 1,000+ new naturally generated Slabfish variants based on temperature, gender, age, and more wildly dynamic and ever-changing factors. The squid shown below is also a Slabfish variant, as we've figured out how to dynamically generate custom models for Slabfish.
Slabworks in action, showing off tons of Slabfish variants!
There are not nearly enough Stairs in Minecraft, so we are introducing Stairworks! This mod introduces Stairs for all the obvious blocks, since it is a commonly requested feature for Vanilla that Mojang is clearly too lazy to implement.
Additionally, we are putting Stairs into natural generation, such as Sand Stairs in deserts, to make the world feel more fluid, natural, and interesting.
We also finally introduced the most suggested feature in the Team Abnormals discord - Stair Chunks! Everyone always asks "where does the missing part of the stair go?" Well, here it is! Stair Chunks can be crafted with a Stair block to make the original full block.
Many of the new Stair variants, including naturally generated Sand Stairs, as well as an Acacia Stair Chunk.
We want to make the Minecraft experience and world feel more fluid while also feeling more solid, which is why we've created Stoneworks. Stoneworks is the last mod we will be announcing today, but its a big one! Stoneworks adds tools, armor, ores, and more, for every stone variant. These will all naturally generate in the world. We have coded mod compatibility for Spinel & Silver in Caverns & Chasms already, and hope other modders follow suit.
Various ores in various stone types alongside various mobs with various variant tools.
Conclusion
This rounds out our brand new internal changes as well as the showcase of our nine, yes, NINE, upcoming mods! We hope you are as happy with these changes, introductions, and new features as we are. We have spent the past three years tirelessly napping so that we could rush all of these new features in a single week.
We hope to bring hundreds more mods to your gameplay experience across the rest of 2023. Thanks for being such an amazing community!
