If you've downloaded any Team Abnormals mods, you've installed Abnormals Core as well. With the 1.17 port for Abnormals Core, which is currently in progress, we are rebranding the mod's name to Blueprint.
Who will this affect?
This decision should not have much of an effect on the average player - the mod will still be required for Abnormals mods and will serve the same functionality. This change is being made from a development stand point and for clarity across branding.
This change will be major to developers - they will have to replace all instances of abnormals_core with blueprint. This shouldn't be too much trouble, and we were planning on repackaging from com.minecraftabnormals to com.teamabnormals anyway. Various other classes are being renamed and repackaged in this update for consistency with other 1.17 class names.
Why is this being done?
We want to reinforce the idea that anyone can use Blueprint. Users often enter our Discord server wondering if only Team Abnormals can use the library - and that isn't true!
We also get a decent amount of traffic from users thinking all mods that use Abnormals Core are made by us, and ask for assistance or support with that mod. We want to ensure users are going to the right place for support with mods.
Finally, many of our Discord members attempt to use the Abnormals Core channel as a channel to discuss all Abnormals mods - rather than just the library. We hope modifying the library's name will help solve this.
Conclusion
Developers, we hope this change will not cause you too much trouble. Alongside other 1.17 changes it should just be a bit of find and replacing! On the topic of 1.17, the Blueprint 1.17 version is in progress, and will hopefully be followed by betas for other Abnormal mods available to patrons. We can't say when they will be released by, so please wait patiently while they are in progress!
